2017 Lincoln Half Marathon Event Preview

Lincoln Half

The Lincoln Half Marathon returns for its second staging on Sunday 1st October 2017 and is ready to welcome runners from near and far to this beautiful race through historic Lincoln.

Late entries are still being accepted and runners have until midnight on Monday 25th September to sign up to this professional and friendly autumn race.

The closed-road race takes runners along the Fossdyke Canal and through the stunning Brayford Wharf, Lincoln Halfthen uphill towards the Cathedral Quarter and Lincoln Castle before returning to finish at the Lincolnshire Showground. It is certainly an impressive half marathon course with plenty of sights to keep motivation high over the 13.1 miles.

The Lincolnshire Showground will act as the race hub and there will be music, entertainment and fantastic food and drink vendors for runners and spectators to enjoy both before and after the race.

A team of pacers will be helping runners to hit their target times at the Lincoln Half Marathon, and they will be clearly identifiable with their running kit and pacing flags. Pacers will be running at 1hr 30mins, 1hr 45mins, 2hr, 2hr 15mins and 2hr 30mins.

The Lincoln Half Marathon is supporting two official charities this year, Cancer Research UK and The Ethan Maull ‘Up Yours to Cancer’ Foundation, both of whom have a strong presence of runners running to raise money for them.

The very first Lincoln Half Marathon Corporate Challenge takes place on the same day and will see a good dose of friendly competition as businesses across Lincoln compete to be the 2017 Lincoln Corporate Challenge Champions.

All runners are requested to arrive at the Lincolnshire Showground no later than 08:30 on Sunday 1st October, ready for a 09:30 start.
