The Lincoln Half Marathon takes place on 1st October 2017 at the Lincolnshire Showground and entries are open.
This beautiful half marathon, organised by OSB Events, is returning for its second year and is looking forward to welcoming runners old and new to the streets of Lincoln this autumn.
The Lincolnshire Showground provides a perfect race hub and it is here that the 13.1-mile race starts and finishes. It is an ideal venue for athletes and spectators to gather and cheer as the runners head out on the closed-road course into Lincoln, past the city’s historical sights and around the vibrant harbour of the Brayford Waterfront.
Runners will pass along the Fossdyke Canal and through Brayford Wharf before heading uphill on Yarborough Road to take in the magnificent sights of Lincoln Castle and Cathedral. The music hotspot and plentiful support on the hill climb keeps runners motivated right to the top, and the historic landmarks make Lincoln a truly impressive half marathon location.
The Lincoln Showground offers plenty of space and on-site parking for competitors and their friends and family, ensuring ease of access on race day whether travelling from Lincoln or further afield. It promises to be a lively race hub, with DJs and bands as well as fantastic food and drink vendors throughout the morning. Many athletes use the event as a chance to enjoy a weekend away in Lincoln, exploring the quaint shops, galleries, cafes and fascinating history.
The Lincoln Half Marathon is supporting two Event Charities, Cancer Research UK and local charity The Ethan Maull ‘Up Yours to Cancer’ Foundation, both of which are charities close to the heart at OSB Events.
The course records for the Lincoln Half Marathon were set at the inaugural 2016 event and stand at 1:08:15 (male) and 1:24:23 (female).
Sponsors of the Lincoln Half Marathon include HIGH5, Erdinger Alkoholfrei, David Lloyd, Wright Vigar, Running Imp, Lincs FM and City of Lincoln Council.
A total of 5,000 places are available for the 2017 Lincoln Half Marathon. The race starts at 9.30am on Sunday 1st October and entry costs £32 affiliated / £34 non-affiliated.
The very first Lincoln Half Marathon Corporate Challenge takes place on the same day and is a great opportunity for local businesses to fundraise, get fit and have fun team building. Entry costs £150 for a team of five.
