The National Running Show will debut on 20th and 21st January 2018 at the NEC, Birmingham, and is set to be the event to attend for runners of all ages, abilities and interests.
Designed by runners, for runners, the show is the UK’s first dedicated non-race affiliated event solely for runners. With motivational talks from running experts, free advice on nutrition, training and equipment, the latest product launches, an exciting treadmill challenge and free gait analysis and trainer fitting, the show is relevant to those starting out on their first 5K through to experienced ultra-marathon runners. It will bring the running community together under one roof for a fantastic celebration of all things running.
The National Running Show has been deliberately timed to take place pre-race season, so that runners can safely plan their race calendar and nutrition whilst choosing their kit and technology brand preferences.
The show will be opened by running icon Dame Kelly Holmes and feature a fantastic line-up of speakers to thrill and inspire, from Olympic Gold medal winners to globe-trotting adventurers. Among the speakers are: Jo Pavey, five-time Olympian long distance runner; Elise Downing, who ran a lap of the British coast self-supported over 301 days; Sean Conway, extreme endurance athlete; Russell Smith, adventurer, presenter and consultant; Steve Edwards, ‘The Godfather of Marathon Running’; Jenny Tough, adventure, traveller and film-maker, and many more well-known figures within the running community.
Topics set to be covered include how to run the perfect half marathon, trail versus road running, mental toughness, ultra marathon training tips and race nutrition, and every session will finish with three top tips on how to achieve your training goals. It promises to be the perfect event to inspire, inform and prepare.
