ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon Secures Double Gold

ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon wins “UK’s Best Marathon” award for the second year in a row securing double gold.
The ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon has been voted “Best Marathon” at The 2015 Running Awards in association with everydayhero, the only independent annual awards ceremony celebrating the best of running and its culture as voted by runners.
Race Director Simon Hill and his team were at the awards ceremony at indigo at The O2 last Friday 24th April to receive their trophy from Mike Bushell in front of a room full of A-list names from the running and sports industry.
Simon Hill commented: “We are over the moon to win the Best Marathon category for the second year in a row, and we would like to thank each and every one who has voted for us. A big thank you also goes to everyone who has been supporting us and who contributed to the success of the 2015 race.
“Registration for the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon 2016 is now open so make sure you sign up and experience the UK’s Best Marathon next spring.”
The pre-date early bird entry fee is £43 for affiliated runners and £45 for non-affiliated runners which includes a medal, ASICS technical finishers t-shirt and a fantastic goody bag.
The organisers have confirmed that the race will take place in April 2016, the date will be confirmed in June.
The ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon is the UK’s flattest, fastest and friendliest marathon renowned for its outstanding crowd support and unique entertainment around the course. A British-only prize fund and three time bonuses attract a top quality British field to race in Greater Manchester each year, and it is also a major charity fundraising event.
