ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon on TV!

Organisers of the 2017 ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon have confirmed that television coverage of the race will be broadcast on national television channels during April and May.
The ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon half-hour programme will first air on Saturday 8th April at 05.50 on Channel 4 and then at 06.50 on Channel 4 + 1 and 4 On Demand.
Eir Sports will show their first airing on Tuesday 25th April at 19:30, with repeats on 26th April at 16:00 and 23:00, 27th April at 15:00 and 30th April at 07:00. The programme will air on Front Runner TV on Thursday 27th April at 14:30, followed by a repeat at 18:30 the same day and then at 14:00 on Saturday 29th April.
The programme will also air at various times over two days on Sky Sports 5. The 30-minute slots are 19:00 and 20:00 on Thursday 27th April, followed by 07:00, 09:00, 13:00, 15:00, 17:00 and 18:45 on Friday 28th April.
On the Bike channel the half-hour programme will first be broadcast on 26th April at 20.45, with further airings as follows: 27th April at 08:45, 28th April at 02:45 and 14:45, 14th May at 18:00, 15th May at 06:00, 16th May at 00:00 and 12:00, 20th May at 21:30, 21st May at 09:30, 22nd May at 03:30 and 15:30, 23rd May at 22:30, 24th May at 10:30, and 25th May at both 04:30 and 16:30.
Dates for the airing of the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon programme Premier Sports will be confirmed.
It is the second consecutive year that the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon has been filmed by Dream Team Television, one of the UK’s leading production companies specialising in multisport and athletics programming for Channel 4 and other major broadcasters throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide.
Filming took place under sunny skies at the 2017 ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon on Sunday 2nd April, which proved to be a day of thrilling sporting achievement, first class entertainment and superb crowd support. The race is well known for being for being the UK’s flattest, fastest and friendliest marathon, and this year saw an exceptionally high number of athletes achieve a marathon PB.
The 2017 ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon was officially started under the Trafford Arch by Manchester running legend Dr Ron Hill MBE and ASICS ambassador Mara Yamauchi, who sent the runners off to the cheers of thousands of spectators.
First to cross the finish line in the men’s field was Patrick Martin, who put in an outstanding performance on his marathon debut to claim the winning title with a time of 02:22:37. Georgie Bruinvels reclaimed her women’s title from two years previous with a time of 02:37:03.

The date for the 2018 ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon will be announced soon. In the meantime the organisers have confirmed that a special “Be the First” introductory price of £45 is available until midnight on 10th April for runners to enter next year’s race.
