Charity and Corporate Entries at Llanelli Half Marathon
- Tags:

Organisers of the Llanelli Half Marathon have announced that entries are now open for businesses and charities that wish to take part in what has become West Wales’ premier race. The 13.1 mile race drew in huge crowds and runners from all over Wales and beyond earlier this year, with a record field of 1,500 participants.
In 2017, Front Runner Events (who organise the JCP Swansea Half Marathon & Great Welsh Marathon races) took over the event, which became a sell out for the first time in its history, which is believed to be down to the successful reputation of the organising team.
The Llanelli Half Marathon takes place on fully closed roads and has a long established history of runners achieving PBs as the course is flat, fast and perfect for beginners, first time half marathon runners and charity runners. Starting and finishing in the Parc Y Scarlets, the route takes runners along the wetlands area, the beautiful Millennium coastal path, festival fields and back.
Due to its popularity, entries are expected to be snapped up for the race that takes place in just four months’ time on February 18th 2018. Corporate and charity places are now open for any organisation, whether it be a social enterprise, local charity or a national company; the opportunity to take part is open to all, and now is the perfect time to get involved.
The Corporate Challenge was introduced to give teams the opportunity to get involved in one of West Wales’ best long distance races, whilst giving their business exposure and visibility at a major running event. The event offers a fantastic platform for companies to actively promote a healthy work force to encourage fitness, motivation and team building, whilst raising money for charity, should they wish.
Charities have long established links with races across the UK securing places for people wanting to run for good causes, acting as a great motivator to raise much needed funds for continuing the great work they do. Last year, the JCP Swansea Half Marathon attracted 13 charities, and it’s hoped that Llanelli Half Marathon is able to assist other charities with places at the race.
David Martin-Jewell, Director of Front Runner Events Limited said: “We would encourage as many companies as possible to take on the Corporate Challenge at Llanelli Half Marathon. It offers the perfect team building experience from registration right through to race day. Running is great for staff morale and can encourage lots of healthy competition, not just internally but between the region’s businesses too.”
“We are thrilled with the take-up of runners raising money for charity at last year’s event. With over £25,000 raised for good causes, we hope that 2018 will top that figure with the most charities represented to date.”
