Set up as a legacy to London’s Olympic Games and now in its ninth year, the Ealing Half is a much loved event that brings the community together and attracts runners from all over the UK and abroad to experience the #EalingFeeling.
The 2019 Ealing Half Marathon was a day of outstanding sporting achievement and community support, and another huge success for this multi award-winning race. The event saw the leafy streets of West London filled with thousands of runners and spectators, all out enjoying the celebratory atmosphere.
The race is now a firm fixture in the autumn running calendar and a big favourite among the running community, having been voted the UK’s best half marathon three years in a row at The Running Awards.
Ealing Half Marathon is a UKA-measured course on closed roads around West London. The 13.1-mile single lap course takes runners through Central Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephens before crossing the finish line in Lammas Park.
Ealing Half Marathon attracts an international running field but has its roots firmly in the local community and sees a lot of support from local businesses, residents and runners. The race is a Community Interest Company (CIC), which exists to benefit the community rather than private shareholders. All money raised by the race is invested straight back into campaigns and activities within the local community, such as projects to tackle childhood obesity and setting up running clubs at schools and for adults.
The 2019 Ealing Half Marathon was won by Jonathan Poole (for the third consecutive year) in a time of 1:10:14 and Lucie Custance in a time of 1:19:03.
