Running High Events, the organisers of the Bath Half Marathon, have confirmed that entries are now open for the 2018 race. The 37th edition of this iconic race, one of the longest established city centre road races in the UK, will take place on Sunday 4th March 2018.
Early Bird entrants for next year’s race will benefit from a £5 discount when registering by 14th April, which is a fantastic incentive to sign up for a race that fills its 15,000 places each year. The 2018 race is expected to sell out even quicker than before as the event continues to grow in popularity, and with a substantial number of places reserved for the official charities.
The Bath Half Marathon supports over 130 local and national charities each year, and it is expected that charity fundraising from the 2017 race will exceed the previous year’s record of £2.2 million raised in 2016.
The flat and fast two-lap course is enjoyed by runners of all ages and abilities, from novice half marathon runners to athletes looking for a PB. Each year the race attracts a strong British elite field and a large number of celebrities who are attracted by the stunning setting, fantastic crowd support and promise of a good finishing time.
Ben Fish won the men’s title at the 2017 Bath Half Marathon in a time of 1:05:16, while Ruth Barnes claimed the women’s title with a time of 1:15:32.
Andrew Taylor, Race Director, said: “We are delighted to launch the 2018 Bath Half Marathon, which continues to be one of the most important events in the British running calendar. We are expecting places for the 2018 race to sell quickly and we would encourage anyone wishing to be on the start line in Great Pulteney Street next March to secure their place as soon as possible and take advantage of our Early Bird discount.”
The date for the 2018 Bath Half Marathon has been confirmed as Sunday 4th March. Early Bird entries are open until 14th April and cost £38 for affiliated runners and £40 for non-affiliated runners.
