The organisers of the OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO have announced that there is still time to enter the event that takes place in just four weeks, on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March 2018.
With cheap end-of-season flights still available from the UK to Paphos and Larnaca, it is not too late for anyone wishing to enter the 12th edition of this popular event and enjoy an early spring race in one of Europe’s most beautiful race locations.
The OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO covers long stretches of straight, traffic-free road, including the spectacular coastal road of greater Limassol. The race is enjoyed by runners from all over the world for being flat and fast and offering magnificent views of the sparkling Mediterranean. Pleasant spring temperatures, superb spectator support and a warm and friendly welcome make this a perfect event to kick off race season, both for first-time marathon runners and professional athletes looking to achieve a PB.
For runners who will not be marathon ready within a month, OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO offers a choice of six race distances which opens the event up to everyone. In addition to the AIMS-accredited OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO, runners have the option to enter the Limassol Half Marathon, the Petrolina 10K Energy Race or the 5K City Race, making this a fantastic opportunity for running friends of mixed ability to sign up together.
An added bonus for those entering the Marathon and Half Marathon races this year is the presence of an international race pacing team to help runners hit their targets.
The organisers have made it especially easy for visitors from abroad to enjoy all that Limassol has to offer with a range of race packages. These bespoke packages offer a great-value and hassle-free way for runners to take part in their chosen race over a long weekend away, and are still available to book for the event next month.
The #runLimassolPlus package is the most popular option as it includes the lowest accommodation rates across a range of budgets, 50% discount on race entry, technical t-shirt, pasta party pass, finisher’s photo, race pack delivery to the hotel and transportation to the start line. For runners travelling on their own or with friends, family or their run club, the package creates a real race experience that allows them to soak up the relaxed social environment whilst enjoying first-class facilities and hospitality.
Rooms are currently available at a selection of 3-, 4- and 5-star hotels, and runners are encouraged to book their packages and secure their accommodation as soon as possible.
OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO Race Director Andreas Spyrou commented: “The 2018 OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO is just four weeks away and we are still accepting entries from athletes of all abilities wanting to make the most of all that Limassol has to offer. For British runners especially, the event is the perfect reward after a long, cold winter, offering a wonderful opportunity for a mini-break in the sun whilst taking part in one of our professional and friendly races. With just four weeks to go, runners can enter the race that best suits their ability, book their flights and look forward to an inspiring weekend celebration of running.”
Cancer Research UK, Alzheimer’s Society and The Mission to Seafarers are the Official Charity Partners for the 2018 OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO.
Entries are still open for the 2018 OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO.
