OSB Events, the organisers of the Lincoln Half Marathon, have announced that general entries are now open for the race that takes place on Sunday 30th September 2018.
Runners wishing to take part in the third edition of this scenic half marathon can sign up on the race website and look forward to a superb race in the autumn.
The organisers are already reporting a positive uptake from those who expressed prior interest in the race and who will have received a VIP link for early access and discounted entry to this year’s event.
A total of 5,000 places are available for the 2018 Lincoln Half Marathon, which gives runners an unbeatable tour of the beautiful city of Lincoln. The race starts and finishes at the Lincolnshire Showground, which makes a first-class venue for the race village. From here, the 13.1-mile closed-road course takes runners through Lincoln’s historic Cathedral Quarter before dropping down to the vibrant Brayford Wharf area and then returning uphill to the Cathedral Quarter, where the magnificent sights of Lincoln Castle and Lincoln Cathedral await.
Of particular excitement this year is the introduction of the Lincoln Mini Marathon for under 17s. This event is a fantastic chance for younger runners to enjoy the thrill of a big sporting event and take part in their own race within the safe surroundings of the Lincolnshire Showground. The Mini Marathon will start shortly after the half marathon.
The second Lincoln Half Marathon Corporate Challenge also takes place on the same day, giving local businesses the chance for a little friendly rivalry whilst getting fit, having fun team building and raising money for charity.
All in all, the three events make for a highly enjoyable day of sporting fun for runners for all ages and abilities, with individuals, families and friends gathering to enjoy the lively atmosphere and incredible spectator support. While the event attracts plenty of local runners, it is also warmly embraced by runners from further afield wanting a great-value race weekend away in a stunning setting.
