HIGH5 to be Sports Nutrition Partner for Manchester Half

Organisers of the Manchester Half Marathon have confirmed leading sports nutrition brand HIGH5 as Official Sports Nutrition Partner for the inaugural race on Sunday 16th October 2016.

HIGH5 is the on-course nutrition at more than 300 races and events worldwide, and promises to be a valuable addition to the first Manchester Half Marathon. The UK-based company prides itself on offering a range of sports nutrition products to help athletes perform at their very best and achieve their sporting goals.

Those running the Manchester Half Marathon this autumn can look forward to receiving on-course products from HIGH5 as well as a ProteinSnack bar in the Recovery Bag at the finish.

The on-course product will be HIGH5’s award-winning IsoGel. More like a drink than a gel, IsoGel is a fast-acting energy boost during exercise. Available in a range of refreshing real juice flavours, IsoGel has been tried and tested in the world’s toughest races and will give Manchester’s athletes a boost when they most need it.

The Recovery Bag at the finish will contain ProteinSnack, a natural protein bar that promotes recovery after exercise. It delivers an awesome gluten-free blend of brazil nuts, goji berries and chia seeds with 12g of protein per bar, making it an effective and convenient snack for athletes once they have crossed the finish line at Emirates Old Trafford.

The Manchester Half Marathon promises to be one of the UK’s flattest and fastest half marathons, with only 41m elevation gain and a 2 mile+ finish straight – making it ideal for first time marathon runners and a real opportunity for club runners and elite athletes to achieve a PB.

The race starts and finishes at Emirates Old Trafford Lancashire County Cricket Club, the same venue as the popular ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon, and the organisers are promising plenty of entertainment and outstanding crowd support.

The course will take runners on wide, closed roads through Old Trafford, Stretford, Brooklands and Sale. Entry costs £33, with £1 per runner going into the Trafford Athlete Fund which was set up to benefit gifted and talented young athletes in the Trafford borough.

In addition to the HIGH5 products, all finishers receive a medal, a t-shirt with a unique Manchester design and a virtual goody bag.
