    Intersport UK & Ireland has unveiled its latest video continuing the celebration of parkrunners’ achievements.

    Filmed at Heaton parkrun in Manchester on Saturday 15th October and then at the 2016 Aldi Manchester Half Marathon on Sunday 16th October – both of which Intersport is a proud partner – the video reflects a superb weekend of running in one of the country’s biggest sporting hubs, Manchester.

    The team at Intersport were delighted to meet many fantastic people over the course of the weekend, starting on Saturday at Heaton Park, which regularly welcomes over 500 parkrunners and up to 50 volunteers to its weekly 5K. They were able to chat to Run Directors Rick Bennett and Bernie Boardman and catch the fantastic atmosphere of the morning on film, including the glorious finishing straight in front of Heaton Hall.

    Some parkrunners used parkrun to train for the half marathon on the Sunday, which proved to be another magnificent day of running and a brilliant new race distance for Manchester. Intersport DW Sports, the leading sports performance retail store in Manchester, led the partnership with the race and offered expert service and advice to participants in the run up to the city’s highly anticipated 13.1-mile race.

    As Official Sports Retail Partner of the inaugural Aldi Manchester Half Marathon and official partner of parkrun, Intersport’s support as a main sponsor was highly valued, and it meant that the leading global sports retailer was able to fulfil its mission of helping to inspire a healthy lifestyle and be part of the journey that sees runners achieve their goals. For all levels of runner, Intersport’s unrivalled experience and knowledge of the running industry makes it a perfect partner for parkrun and other mass participation races.

    The video also features an interview with British Half Marathon Champion and elite athlete Jess Coulson.

    The Intersport Manchester video is the latest in a series of videos celebrating Intersport’s partnership with parkrun.

    The first video was filmed in Wimbledon in January 2016, celebrating the inaugural partnership event and coinciding with the opening of a smart new Intersport store on Wimbledon’s Broadway.

    The second video was filmed in Reigate in September 2016, featuring Reigate Priory parkrun and the Intersport Run Reigate Half Marathon and 10K.
