The Primetel 5K Corporate Race is the most popular race of Limassol Marathon GSO, with over 250 companies, including PWC, Toyota and KIA, and 8,000 participants taking part in 2016. As Cyprus’ only corporate team race, it is a fantastic opportunity for companies to enjoy a day out with employees and enjoy a shared goal of getting fit.
Firms that participate in this great team building opportunity are likely to see wide-ranging benefits including improved company culture, increased employee loyalty, better employee fitness and health, higher attendance and a giant boost to employee morale. Not only does it enable employees to get fit and feel good about themselves, it is a source of huge pride to cross the finish line as a team and a unique form of publicity for companies whose employees wear a company t-shirt.
The 2017 Primetel 5K Corporate Race promises to be bigger and better than before, with many new features for the race’s 11th anniversary year. New for 2017 is an improved, flat 5K route offering both a fast and a slow lane. It will take runners along Limassol’s stunning coast road, past the Municipal Zoo and the pier before turning around and finishing back at Molos, a beautiful outdoor space of paved paths, palm trees, sculptures, grassy areas and decks stretching out over the sparkling Mediterranean Sea.
In addition to the new coastal course is the change of day, to give the Corporate Race the attention it deserves. Rather than taking place on Sunday 19th March, when the other races that make up Limassol Marathon GSO take place, the 2017 Primetel 5K Corporate Race will take place for the first time on the Saturday of race weekend. This will enable the many thousands of participants to enjoy full use of Limassol’s coast road and it will be a fitting start to the city’s celebration of running.
Limassol Marathon GSO is quite unique in offering a range of race distances to suit all ages and abilities. Joining the Primetel 5K Corporate Race on the Saturday will be the 1K Youth Race, while the Sunday line-up includes the 26.2-mile Limassol Marathon GSO, the Half Marathon, the Petrolina 10K Energy Race and the 5K City Race. Together these races offer a complete sporting experience which is very much embraced by the thousands of participants and spectators who come to the start line to cheer the contestants on. Overseas visitors can expect a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from the locals who love this day of sporting greatness.
Entry for all races is open and runners signing up to the Limassol Marathon GSO, Half Marathon, Petrolina 10K Energy Race or the 5K City Race before 31st December benefit from a 20% early bird discount.
Those who register for the Primetel 5K Corporate Race on Saturday 18th March will also have the opportunity to run the individual 5K City Race on Sunday 19th March for a reduced fee of 10 euros, which will be given directly to charity.
