The organisers of OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO have confirmed that the 2019 event, taking place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th March 2019, will be live streamed for the very first time.
The live streaming will start at 07:00 local time (05:00 GMT) on Sunday 24th March and will be available to watch on YouTube and AlfaSports.TV.
The live streaming will cover the Start / Finish line of each of the four races that take place on the Sunday: the AIMS-accredited Marathon Race at 07:30, Limassol Half Marathon at 07:40, the Petrolina 10K Energy Race at 08:00 and the 5K City Race at 08:10.
All the races start at the western end of Molos Park on Limassol’s attractive seafront, where there will be a fantastic atmosphere as crowds gather to see the runners off and then cheer them in as they cross the finish line.
The coverage will feature commentary by British endurance runner Susie Chan, live results from the four races, interviews with runners, awards, and exciting offers and announcements. The Live Stream is a perfect way to follow the fun and excitement of the day, and is particularly relevant for international runners with friends and family wanting to follow all the action back home.
Over the course of the two-day event, OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO will host 6 races, 15,000 runners, 4 parallel events, 700 volunteers and 3,000 international runners, whilst also recording plenty of PBs on the flat and fast course and celebrating many great running stories.
OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO Race Director Andreas Spyrou commented: “We are thrilled to be live streaming OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO for the first time at the 2019 event. To be able to watch events as they happen will really add to the excitement of the day, and it will be a great bonus for our international friends who won’t have to miss a minute of proceedings. We look forward to welcoming everyone to Limassol this weekend and to celebrating a superb weekend of running and achievement.”
