Xtra Mile Events have confirmed Macmillan Cancer Support as Headline Charity Partner for the 2017 Leeds Triathlon, which takes place on Sunday 3rd September. The popular open water sprint and standard triathlon will now be called the Macmillan Leeds Triathlon.

The Macmillan Leeds Triathlon takes place in Leeds’ famous Roundhay Park, which provides a perfect setting for this key date in the UK triathlon calendar. The event comprises an open water swim in Waterloo Lake, a fast cycle on quiet but challenging roads and a final run section through the grounds offering magnificent views of the parkland, mansion and scenery beyond.

Each year large crowds of spectators turn out to cheer on the athletes at the many viewing spots along each leg of the course. It makes for a great day out for friends and family and guarantees a fantastic atmosphere for the competitors.

As Headline Charity Partner, Macmillan Cancer Support is offering 20 free places in the Macmillan Leeds Triathlon in return for a pledge to raise £300 in sponsorship to support those affected by cancer. The free places are offered on a first come, first served basis.
