The organisers of the award-winning Ealing Half Marathon have announced that Mercedes-Benz Brentford is sponsoring the race for the fourth year running as part of its community sponsorship programme.

The West London retailer, part of the Mercedes-Benz Retail Group, is giving runners even more reason to cross the finish line as it is providing a new Mercedes-Benz bike for the event.

All runners who finish will be in with a chance of winning this stylish, high performance bike of exclusive Mercedes-Benz design.

Mercedes-Benz Brentford also supports the race by supplying a branded smart car which is promoting the Ealing Half Marathon in the lead up to the event in the local area, and it will provide the lead car on race day.

The fifth Ealing Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 25th September 2016 and is well known for its huge community support and great atmosphere, with runners travelling from all over the UK and abroad to experience the #EalingFeeling. The race has recently been voted the UK’s best half marathon for the third consecutive year at The Running Awards, and is a firm fixture in the autumn running calendar.

A team from Mercedes-Benz Brentford will be taking part and raising money for charity, including General Manager Trevor Webb who has participated in the Ealing Half Marathon since its inauguration following the London Olympics in 2012.

The race has become an important event in the running calendar and a well-known annual event for the local community. It is also a good opportunity to raise money for a good cause, not to mention helping to keep our staff fit!”

Event Co-Ordinator Sandra Courtney said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Mercedes-Benz Brentford back on board as a sponsor of the Ealing Half Marathon 2016. All the support from local businesses, runners and residents is hugely appreciated and gives the race a brilliant community feel. We are looking forward to filling the streets for the UK’s favourite half marathon and would encourage runners to sign up now as the last places are filling.”

A total of 7,500 places are available for the Ealing Half Marathon 2016, with entry costs £36 for affiliated runners and £38 for unaffiliated runners. Runners can also sign up to run and raise money for the headline charities Alzheimer’s Society, Cancer Research UK and CLIC Sargent. All finishers receive a medal and online e-goody bag and are entered into a draw to win the Mercedes bike.
The route takes the runners around Central Ealing, Montpelier, Pitshanger, West Ealing, Hanwell and St Stephens before crossing the finish line in Lammas Park.
