The organisers of The National Running Conference in partnership with Running Imp have announced that James Robinson from Limelight Sports will be speaking at the event on Friday 18th January 2019 at Birmingham’s NEC.
James Robinson is Chief Commercial Officer at Limelight Sports, the agency for the Active World. He will be delivering The National Running Conference’s afternoon session titled ‘Events – Creating and Delivering Showcase Events to the World’, for which he is admirably qualified given his experience in the participation sports sector.
Throughout his career James has worked extensively in mass participation sports, has lead rights holders and agency businesses and has been responsible for over 200 international events in running, cycling, triathlon and open water swimming. He spent 10 years at Great Run before joining Lagardère Sports as Director for International Marketing and Sales at Sportfive in Hamburg, and then moving to become Commercial Director where he directed the World Triathlon series.
James then spent 5 years at WME-IMG where he progressed to Global Head of Mass Participation Sports. In this role he oversaw over 60 annual events and was responsible for the creation and implementation of the agency’s global strategy for mass participation sports.
James will be bringing his experience and knowledge to The National Running Conference to discuss how the mass participation market has grown and evolved. Within his session he will look at increasing audience expectations, delivering campaigns to attract new commercial partners, the importance of creativity and innovation, and the future of events.
James is the latest big name in an impressive line-up of speakers already confirmed for the conference agenda. Also speaking on the day will be Nick Pearson, CEO of parkrun Global Ltd, Neil Venables, General Manager of Intersport UK & Ireland, Kate Dale, Strategic Lead for Campaigns at Sport England, and Gareth Mills, Country Manager UK at Strava. International announcer, broadcaster and presenter Kris Temple has been confirmed as event host.
