Among the Gold Sponsors are PrimeTel, Petrolina, Andrey and Julia Dashin’s Foundation, Intersport, Visit Cyprus, Aegean, Kia Motors, Europcar, Guaba Beach Bar, Choice FM, Bank of Cyprus and G.A.P. Vassilopoulos (Western Union), while the Silver Sponsors include HIGH5, Limassol Buses and TheGreenParking.com.

Cyprus Police, Cyprus National Guard and the Cyprus Ministry of Education and Culture then represent some of the Official Bodies supporting Cyprus’ largest sporting event.
The strong line-up of sponsors and supporters is credit to OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO, which is increasing in popularity year on year and taking significant steps to ensure the event is the very best it can be through its #weadvance campaign. The result is a first-class option for international runners wanting a professional race in a spectacular location.
For the first time in the event’s 11-year history, the 2017 OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO will take place over two days instead of one, to allow for a full weekend celebration of running. The organisers are looking forward to welcoming 13,000 participants to Cyprus this spring, many of whom come from all over the world to #RunLimassol and enjoy the warm welcome and friendly atmosphere.
With a choice of race distances, the OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO is quite unique in comparison to other international races and a brilliant option for runners of mixed ages and abilities. The weekend kicks off with the popular PrimeTel 5K Corporate Race and the 1K Andrey and Julia Dashin’s Foundation Youth Race on Saturday 18th March, and the AIMS-accredited OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO, the Half Marathon, the Petrolina 10K Energy Race and the 5K City Race all set off at 7am on Sunday 19th March. Together these races offer a complete sporting experience which is very much embraced by the thousands of participants and spectators who come to the start line to cheer the contestants on.
The 26.2-mile OPAP Limassol Marathon GSO is renowned for its flat, fast and straight course stretching 21km along the beautiful Mediterranean, making it an ideal race for first time marathoners as well for elite athletes looking for a PB or qualifying time. The attractive course, combined with Cyprus’ pleasant climate, spectacular coastal scenery and plentiful history and culture, make Limassol a highly desirable destination for a spring race. Generous cash prizes are an added incentive for serious athletes, with extra bonuses for those who succeed in breaking the course records.
