One Running Movement Fife has been postponed to 2021, with the exact date to be confirmed in due course.
The event will see participants complete their very own Half Marathon and Marathon challenges at Pitreavie Athletics Centre. They will run the final 1.1 miles (Half Marathon) or 1.2 miles (Marathon) of their cumulative challenges on the day, having completed the first 12 miles (Half Marathon) or 25 miles (Marathon) over previous weeks.
On event day participants will get the full race experience including race bibs, a marshalled route, music and a start and finish line gantry, allowing them to enjoy the thrill of a big sporting event and to be cheered on by friends and family. As they cross the finish line they are presented with their well-earned medal and a carton of water.
One Running Movement is a collaborative evolution for movement and change, on a mission to encourage people of all ages to #MoveForLife.
One Running Movement offers a series of Half Marathon and Marathon (new for 2020) cumulative running events across the UK and Northern Ireland to encourage everyone to get active as part of their daily routine, whilst getting outside more, reducing screen time and achieving a fantastic goal. Fully inclusive and non-competitive, the movement is playing a big part in inspiring current and future generations to embrace regular physical activity and gain confidence through sport. Events are taking place nationwide over the school year 2020/21.
Direct Entry gives families, groups, individuals and siblings the chance to get involved and join the movement. A #GiveBack initiative has been created so that £5 from every Direct Entry goes towards funding places for children aged 4-12.
School Entry is available for any school wishing to take part.
There will be separate waves for Direct Entry and School Entry.
One Running Movement started out as Schools Half Marathon, which trialled with two schools in Shropshire 2017. The first official Schools Half Marathon took place in June 2018 as part of Shrewsbury Half Marathon weekend. Schools Half Marathon is now a stand-alone event and part of the nationwide Schools Running Movement by One Running Movement.
One Running Movement has 12 Foundation Partners and Powered by Partners who are working together with founders Rebecca Richardson and Joe Williams. Foundation Partners include Up & Running, Polar, Poly, New Balance, One Water and McLEAR. Powered By Partners include UKRunChat, Women’s Running, Run Mummy Run, Social Run Group, Breathe Unity and Social Chain.
