Osterley Park Summer 10K sold out – still time to enter Ealing Half Marathon!
Ealing Half Marathon CIC, organisers of the award-winning Ealing Half Marathon, the Osterley Park 10K races and a range of other projects including school presentations, running groups, coaching and health walks, have confirmed that places to their Osterley Park Summer 10K have now sold out.
The hugely popular Osterley Park Summer 10K takes place on 11th June in the beautiful National Trust grounds in West London, and the date for the Osterley Park Winter 10K has been confirmed as 10th December.
Places for the Ealing Half Marathon on Sunday 25th September 2016 are still available after a surge of entries following the win of the UK’s Best Half Marathon trophy at this year’s Running Awards for the 3rd consecutive year, proving the ever-increasing popularity of the race.
With just over four months to race day, the West London race is quickly filling its 8,000 spaces as runners from all over the UK and abroad secure their spot on the start line. Now is the perfect time to enter for beginners or half marathon novices, with plenty of time still to get training and be fit for the start line.
Runners can also choose to run for one of the race’s three headline charities: Alzheimer’s Society, Cancer Research UK and CLIC Sargent.
In addition to offering a friendly and professional race on fully-closed roads, the Ealing Half Marathon is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC). This means that the money it raises is ploughed straight back into the community. The race has raised over £850,000 since its inauguration in 2012 and dedicates the funds to projects and activities that make sport and fitness available to all. In their commitment to promoting physical activity, the Ealing Half Marathon CIC engages in year-round activities such as creating running clubs in schools, tackling childhood obesity, setting up local running groups and supporting the local adult and junior parkrun.
Race Director Kelvin Walker commented: “We are delighted that Osterley Park 10K has once again sold out and it promises to be a fantastic summer run in stunning surroundings. It is also a perfect taster for the Ealing Half Marathon. We are grateful to all the community support which makes these events possible and which ensures a wonderful atmosphere on race day.
“There are still spaces left for the Ealing Half Marathon in September and we are looking forward to filling the streets for the UK’s best half marathon! Anyone wishing to experience the #EalingFeeling should sign up now.”
The Ealing Half Marathon starts and finishes in Lammas Park and features a 13.1 mile route on closed roads around the leafy streets and parks of the West London Borough. The race is looking forward to welcoming 8,000 runners of all abilities to its fifth anniversary race on Sunday 25th September 2016. Entries cost £36 for affiliated runners and £38 for unaffiliated runners.
