Statement from Running Industry Alliance as follows:
It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II
HM Queen Elizabeth II was a much-respected figure head for the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth realms, and a constant in an ever-changing world for many as the world’s longest-reigning monarch.
HM Queen Elizabeth II also supported many sports with her long-standing Patronage across a wide selection of sports and understood its importance in bringing together communities. This apparent innate understanding of how important sport can be to a nation was humorously demonstrated when she took a cameo in the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics Games, which many of us can remember with a wry smile.
Out of respect for the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II and in line with the formal mourning period, Running Industry Alliance has postponed The Running Conference 2022 which was due to take place from 11th to 13th September.
All attendees will receive communication directly. We will announce updates and a new date for The Running Conference.
Joining the collective tone of a nation, it is important for us to pause and reflect on what has been a remarkable life. Our thoughts are with The Royal Family at this sad time.
