Run Mummy Run collaborates with Race for Life

Leading online running community for women Run Mummy Run has announced that it will be collaborating with Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life again in 2019.

This will be the fourth consecutive year that Run Mummy Run works with the charity, having raised vital funds for Cancer Research UK through the Race for Life series in previous years.

The Run Mummy Run community is aiming to raise over £20,000 through the partnership in 2019, to help fund life-saving research into all 200 types of cancer.

Cancer Research UK is a charity that is close to the hearts of many of its members, and the all-inclusive nature of Race for Life very much suits the ethos of the Run Mummy Run community. For many of the women, Race for Life is their first experience of a running event, and they can choose from a range of events no matter their level or experience. From 5K and 10K events through to Pretty Muddy events for adults and children, there is something for everyone and the fundraising opportunities are considerable.

Run Mummy RunIn addition to raising substantial amounts through fundraising, Run Mummy Run has released new ‘Race for Life Inspired’ running kit, the sales of which will contribute to their fundraising activity. A total of £2.50 from every pair of capris and skort sold, and £1 per snug sold, will be donated to Cancer Research UK. The new collection was snapped up quickly in pre-orders and the striking pink and navy items are expected to be seen at Race for Life events across the country this year.

Run Mummy Run has now reached over 61,000 members in its Facebook group and is well known for its core values of kindness, support, equality and friendship – all of which are amply reflected at events such as Race for Life. The community brings female runners together to support and motivate one another, and provides a safe and inspiring environment in which they can talk openly about their running journey and work towards achieving their goals.

Leanne Davies, Founder and Creator of Run Mummy Run, commented, “I am thrilled to announce that Run Mummy Run will be collaborating with Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life for a fourth year running. This is a partnership close to my heart and one which consistently receives huge support from our members. We are honoured to have the Race for Life stamp of approval on our bespoke ‘Race for Life Inspired’ kit, and a donation from each sale will be made to Cancer Research UK as part of our pledge to raise £20,000 for them as a community this year. We are so excited to confirm this partnership and look forward to making a real difference together in 2019.”

Michael Beeson, Senior Sponsorship and Marketing Manager at Cancer Research UK, added, “We are delighted to collaborate with Run Mummy Run again in 2019 and we look forward to welcoming members of the community to our many events taking place across the UK this year. Our events are very much about taking part and joining together in our fight to beat cancer, regardless of age and ability. We are grateful for all the support from Run Mummy Run which is invaluable in our mission to carry out research into all types of cancer.”
