Schools Running Movement at Why Sports Conference

It has been confirmed that Schools Running Movement by UK Run Events will be presenting at the Why Sports Conference 2019 taking place this Wednesday 18th September at The Royal Society of Medicine, London.

Schools Running Movement will be delivering a Case Study Presentation at 14:00 at this highly relevant day of debate and collaboration geared at increasing activity across the UK.

As a collaborative revolution for movement and change, Schools Running Movement by UK Run Events has made a significant impact in 2019 by encouraging school pupils to develop healthy habits to exercise regularly. Its cumulative Schools Half Marathon event saw thousands of pupils nationwide complete their very own half marathon over the last school year. Many more locations and events are confirmed for the upcoming school year 2019/20 as it continues in its drive to inspire future generations to #MoveForLife.

Non-competitive and fully inclusive, Schools Running Movement is very much in line with Why Sports, a social enterprise dedicated to getting more people active across the UK regardless of ability, age, gender, faith, ethnicity or background. With the belief that physical activity has the power to unite people, build relationships, transform lives and positively engage disadvantaged communities, Why Sports is committed to investing in sport at all levels in order to promote better health through activity.

Why SportsThis year will be the fourth annual Why Sports Conference and it will once more bring together key policy makers, governing bodies, local authorities, coaches, volunteers, the private sector and other influencers. The event will give the brightest minds in the sector a platform where they can network, debate and collaborate on outcomes in order to meet the needs of communities.

This year’s agenda includes dedicated workshop presentations from Sport England on key objectives and insights. Other attendees include Sporting Equals UK, Groop, EMD UK, CIMSPA (The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity), Substance, OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) and Project ’92.

Schools Half Marathon Brighton and Hove 2019The Founders and Directors of Schools Running Movement, Rebecca Richardson and Joe Williams, will be delivering the Case Study Presentation for Schools Running Movement by UK Run Events. They will be explaining how the movement is encouraging the reduction of screen time, getting outside in the fresh air and building confidence through sport. They will also be outlining the incredible support the movement has received from the sports industry as a whole, with the Foundation Partners working together to continue to drive Schools Half Marathon forwards.

Foundation Partners announced so far include specialist running retailer Up & Running, sports and fitness technology leaders Polar, leading ethical water brand One, global communications company Poly and official charity partner Save the Children.
