2021 Shrewsbury Half Marathon details to be announced soon



Shrewsbury Half Marathon returns on Sunday 11th October 2020. 

The single lap, closed road route starts and finishes at Shropshire County Showground and takes in a mix of beautiful Shropshire countryside and country lanes, historic streets with medieval buildings, welcoming crowds and an amazing sense of community.

The race welcomes many runners of all abilities, running clubs and communities from across the UK and abroad to Shropshire every year

Runners will head out from Shropshire County Showground along the river in the Quarry, through the historic town centre, past hundreds of listed buildings and up the Wyle Cop, the UK’s longest row of uninterrupted independent shops. The second half of the race will take them through the beautiful Shropshire countryside before being cheered over the finish line back at the Showground.

The winners of On Shrewsbury Half Marathon 2019 were Tom Roberts with a time of 01:09:54 and Jackie Skinner with a time of 01:21:27.


A team of SRG pacers from Up & Running will be helping runners to hit their targets on the day, covering the following times: 1:30, 1:40, 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:05, 2:10, 2:15, 2:30 and 3:00. There will also be two tail runners.


A generous selection of prizes are supported by the Official Sports Retail Partner, Up & Running.

The top 3 male and female will be awarded Up & Running vouchers and a trophy, with the winners also receiving champagne. All age category winners (V30, V35, V40, V45, V50, V55, V60, V65) will receive Up & Running vouchers worth £50.

Early bird entries are now open for Shrewsbury Half Marathon 2020 and cost £28 (affiliated) / £30 (unaffiliated) until the end of February. 

The sooner you book, the more you save. Price increases will be as follows:

Until 29th February: £28 – £30
Until 30th April: £29 – £31
Until 31st August: £30 – £32
Until 10th October (or until sold out): £31 – £33
On the day (if places still available): £35
