Strava

The organisers of The National Running Conference in partnership with Running Imp have confirmed Strava as the latest big name to come on board the event on Friday 18th January 2019 at Birmingham’s NEC.

The leading social network for athletes, Strava is a highly pertinent addition to this industry-leading B2B conference that will see key leaders and business influencers in the running world gathered together for one day to network, share knowledge and keep driving the UK’s running market forwards.

Country Manager UK at Strava Gareth Mills will be speaking at The National Running Conference in partnership with Running Imp and leading the 09:45 session titled ‘Technology – The Social Network for Athletes’. He will be discussing community engagement, statistical analysis of the UK running market, global trends, emerging opportunities and more.

Strava Strava was launched in 2008 and tens of millions of athletes across 195 countries now use the software to record data during fitness activities. It also acts as a social network where users connect, compare and compete against each other. Like many in the industry, Gareth himself is a keen runner and cyclist who enjoys keeping fit whilst looking after Strava in the UK.

Gareth joins a stellar line-up of speakers already confirmed for the conference agenda, including Nick Pearson, CEO of parkrun Global, Neil Venables, General Manager of Intersport UK & Ireland, Kate Dale, Strategic Lead for Campaigns at Sport England, and Alistair Cameron, CEO EMEA of ASICS. International announcer, broadcaster and presenter Kris Temple has been confirmed as event host.

The National Running Conference in partnership with Running Imp is the first B2B conference of its kind. It will bring brands, retailers, race directors, official bodies and community sectors together under one roof to share their knowledge, voice opinions and look at current and future trends in the running market. Attendees will be able to connect with peers and listen to an engaging breadth of topics covering all aspects of the industry, with a view to preparing for the future and agreeing how best to deliver to their audiences. It is set to be a must-attend event for any business related to running.
