The National Running Show returns to Birmingham’s NEC for its second show on 19th and 20th January 2019, and once again it is set to be the event to attend for runners of all ages, abilities and interests.
Tickets are on sale now on the event website.
Designed by runners, for runners, this innovative show enjoyed huge success at its inaugural event in January 2018, which saw thousands of runners gathered under one roof alongside a first-class line-up of sports brands, retailers, nutrition experts, race organisers, communities and expert speakers. For those starting out on their first 5K through to experienced ultra runners, the event is relevant to runners of all abilities wanting to celebrate the sport they love.
The National Running Show has received wide acclaim since opening its doors in 2018, having won the award for Best Consumer Show Launch at the 2018 AEO Excellence Awards. It has gone on to win the award for Best Launch (Trade or Consumer) at the 2018 EN Indy Awards, where Mike Seaman also took home the award for Best Show Director.
The 2019 event will build on the success of the 2018 event and there is certainly plenty to look forward to – starting with the attendance of British long-distance runner Paula Radcliffe MBE, who will be speaking on Sunday 20th January and opening day 2 of the show.
Top brands under one roof
Runners can look forward to an even bigger and better event in 2019. The first obvious change is a much larger floor space, including five new feature areas and a second theatre. There will also be many more interactive elements such as free gait analysis and trainer fitting, free nutrition and injury advice, product launches, on-site competitions and more. The interactive sponsored areas were a huge hit at the show last year, offering visitors a fantastic chance to get active and try out many of the offerings for themselves. Returning sponsors include Go Run Right, Run3D and Sports Injury Fix.
Visitors will also be treated to all the big names in running at the 2019 show. Up & Running and Intersport are the Official Retail Partners with showcased brands including Ronhill, Hilly, Altra, Saucony, Polar, ASICS and New Balance. Swiss running brand On and California-based Hoka One One are also confirmed for the event.
The presence of such big brand names together under one roof is significant news for the running industry and for the many thousands of runners set to attend this innovative expo in the new year.
Once more there will be an exciting speaker programme over the two days of the show and the auditorium is expected to be packed as Olympic gold medallists, globe trotting adventurers and endurance athletes share their anecdotes and top running tips. Endurance runner Susie Chan and Ben Smith of The 401 Challenge will be co-hosting the speaker programme, chatting with fellow runners and leading discussion panels.
In addition to Paula Radcliffe, Roger Black MBE, Iwan Thomas MBE have been announced as speakers, plus Jo Pavey MBE, Vassos Alexander, Steve Edwards, Brendan Rendall, Anita Bean, Aleks Kashefi, Jenny Baker, Nikki Love, Jordan Wylie, Nick Butter, Nell McAndrew, Mara Yamauchi and many more popular faces in running.
The National Running Show has been deliberately timed to take place pre-race season, so that runners can safely plan their race calendar and nutrition whilst choosing their kit and technology brand preferences.
