About The Running Awards:
The Running Awards was established in 2014 and is a journey and celebration of all things running, dubbed affectionately “the Oscars of the running world” by the industry and runners. The independent annual awards are going from strength to strength after moving to the iconic indigo at The O2 for the 2015 ceremony.
Who is attending – B2B and B2C audience:
April 2016 will see a continuation at indigo at The O2 where up to 450 A-list industry key figures as well as running enthusiasts from the running community plus key running press and fitness bloggers will witness the best in the industry, as independently voted for by runners, being awarded the sought-after Running Awards trophies.

Key timings:
- 18.45: Intersport Sport to the People drinks reception & Networking in the first floor VIP bar
- 20.15: Three course VIP dinner provided by Gaucho with wine
- 22.00: Start of The Running Awards ceremony, presented by Mike Bushell with celebrity guests
- 23.00: Finish of The Running Awards ceremony
- 23.00: After Party on main floor with opening performance by Beardyman & access to VIP bar for further networking
- 01:00: Carriages
Individual VIP and table dining (B2B):
Individual VIP dining seats and tables of ten or twelve can be purchased directly through EventBrite here: VIP Dining
A limited number of tables and VIP individual dining are available and need to be booked asap. Included in the VIP Dining option is a drink upon arrival and half a bottle of wine per person at the table or soft drinks. An invitation to the fabulous Intersport Sport to the People Drink Reception, 3 course gala dinner provided by Gaucho, The Running Awards 2016 (of course!), access to the networking bar and after party with an opening performance by Beardyman.
Balcony Seats (B2B and B2C):
Balcony seats can be purchased directly through EventBrite here: Balcony Seats
Doors for balcony seat ticket holders open at 21:15, ahead of the start of The Running Awards at 22:00.
Balcony seat ticket holders will also have access to the after party on the main floor after the awards.
Voting and Nominations:
Nominations have been coming in quickly since the launch, with over 900 nominations and more than 6,000 votes within the first day and a half. Over 90,000 votes have been cast now by the voting public in categories that include Accessories, Clothing, Nutrition & Hydration, Publications, Events, Shoes, Sports Retailers, Wearable Technology and Favourite Charity.
Voting is free, quick and very simple, the only details required are a name and email address. Voting in all the categories is closed now apart from “Favourite Charity”.
Runners can vote for their Favourite Charity until 10pm on 22nd April.
A ‘Vote for Us 2016’ file badge has also been released which can be downloaded from the website in order to actively encourage customers, supporters, fans and followers to vote.

Paul Corrick, co-founder of The Running Awards commented: “The Running Awards continues to grow, with the running industry and community very much behind the awards. Through extremely positive feedback we have announced today that we will continue at indigo at The O2 and have increased capacity to 550 VIP Dining, with food provided by Gaucho”.

The organisers of The Running Awards in association with JustGiving have been working with Breathe Unity, a well-known PR company in the Sports Industry which specialises in Sports PR and Partnerships, since the 2015 awards.

Shortlisted Top 12:
Voting has closed in most of the categories apart from Favourite Charity, which remains open until 10pm on the awards evening.
Here are all of the top 12 shortlisted in each category and you can view this on The Running Awards website The Running Awards Blog.
On the evening at The Running Awards the top 12 shortlistees in each category will be featured on the main screen; the top 3 will then be unveiled with 3rd and runner up invited to collect their trophies and to have their photo taken with the trophies.
The winner of each category will be called to the main stage by Mike Bushell to be presented with the winner’s trophy. All winners will be escorted to the photography centre to capture the moment.
