The Running Festival at Goodwood #RunFestGoodwood returns to the spectacular Goodwood Motor Circuit in Sussex on Sunday 14th July 2019 and early bird entries are open until 31st January.
Managed by professional running events company UK Run Events, The Running Festival at Goodwood features a Family 1.1 Mile, a 10K and a Half Marathon. The 10K and the Half Marathon are UKA accredited, and the Family 1.1 Mile also represents the final 1.1 mile of the West Sussex Primary Schools Half Marathon Challenge.
Competitors can look forward to running on the smooth tarmac of the race track and to a glorious finish in the pit lane, with plenty of cheering and support from the grandstand.
NEW for 2019 is a Summer Running Party, giving runners and supporters a fantastic chance to relax and celebrate post-race. There will be a BBQ and a full Prize Giving ceremony for the winners and age category winners, with special on-the-day prizes. It is the perfect opportunity for individuals, families, friends, running clubs and communities to get together and celebrate a thrilling day of running.
The Running Festival at Goodwood 10K covers 2.5 laps of the motor racing circuit and The Running Festival at Goodwood Half Marathon covers 5.5 laps. A team of SRG pacers will be running both the 10K and the Half Marathon to help runners achieve their target times.
The 10K pacers will cover: 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 and 75 minutes.
The Half Marathon pacers will cover: 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20 and 2:30.
The Family 1.1 Mile is a 1.1-mile race for young runners aged between 4-16 years. The youngsters will be cheered on by family and friends in the grandstand and enjoy a full finish experience before receiving their unique finisher’s medal. Children aged 10 and under need to be accompanied by an adult (who will also receive a medal for completing the race), while those aged 11-16 can run unaccompanied. There will be an enclosed repatriation area and huge support for all participants, making this a celebratory day of running for all ages and abilities.
The Family 1.1 Mile will also welcome lots of children from local schools completing the West Sussex Primary Schools Half Marathon challenge, where the first 12 miles are completed at school and the last 1.1 mile is run at Goodwood in front of family and friends. The atmosphere promises to be incredible as hundreds of young runners take part and celebrate their achievement.
