The Running Festival at Goodwood takes place on Sunday 14th October 2018 and is set to become one of the most iconic running events in the sporting calendar.
Taking place at the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit, tickets are being snapped up by runners eager to race at this stunning estate in the heart of West Sussex.
Nestled at the foot of the South Downs just outside Chichester, Goodwood is home to the world-famous Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and Qatar Goodwood Festival, and is an extremely picturesque location for this thrilling new event on the UK run scene.
Managed by professional running events company UK Run Events, The Running Festival at Goodwood comprises a 10K, a Half Marathon and a Family Mile. A total of 2,000 places are available across all events.
The Running Festival at Goodwood 10K covers two and a half laps of the motor racing circuit and The Running Festival at Goodwood Half Marathon covers five and a half laps.
A team of pacers will be running both the 10K and the Half Marathon to help runners achieve their target times.
The 10K pacers will cover: 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 and 75 minutes.
The Half Marathon pacers will cover: 1:45, 1:50, 1:55, 2:00, 2:10, 2:20 and 2:30.
The Family Mile is a 1-mile race aimed at young runners aged between 4-16 years. The youngsters will be cheered on by family and friends in the grandstand and enjoy a full finish experience before receiving their unique finisher’s medal. Under 11s need to be accompanied by an adult (who will also receive a medal for completing the race) while those aged 11-16 can run unaccompanied. There will be an enclosed repatriation area and huge support for all participants, making this a celebratory day of running for all ages and abilities.
Of particular excitement at The Running Festival at Goodwood will be the presence of many different running communities and running clubs. The event is set to be a huge community gathering and a glorious end-of-season celebration for the entire running community. Run Mummy Run, for example, will be there in full force, enjoying their own welcome area as well as their own waves in both the 10K and Half Marathon races.
