Launch of Windsor Half Marathon Corporate Challenge

The organisers of the popular Windsor Half Marathon have confirmed the launch of the inaugural Windsor Half Marathon Corporate Challenge for 2016, known as the Macdonald Windsor Hotel WHM Corporate Challenge.
The Corporate Challenge will take place as part of the main event which starts at 10.00am on Sunday 25th September.
The Windsor Half Marathon Corporate Challenge has been introduced to give businesses and their guests the opportunity to compete in Windsor Great Park, one of the most iconic road race venues in the UK, whilst encouraging fitness in the work place and raising money for charity.
Race Director Peter Hier commented: “We are excited to launch the Corporate Challenge for this year’s Windsor Half Marathon. The Macdonald Windsor Hotel WHM Corporate Challenge offers a unique platform for team building for companies of all sizes within the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead and beyond, whilst allowing the runners to raise much needed funds for local Charities.
“This is a great event for companies to actively promote a healthy work force and to encourage fitness and team building at work, with the goal to take part in what is known as one of the most prestigious events in the British sporting calendar.
“The Macdonald Windsor Hotel WHM Corporate Challenge will also create a bit of competition between businesses, from inter-branch or inter-departmental challenges to taking on competitors. We are looking forward to seeing the fastest teams on the podium in September.”
The Windsor Half Marathon sells out each year within months of the opening of entries, and a limited number of 250 places have been reserved for corporate runners representing business teams.
There is no upper limit to the number of entrants in each team, but a minimum of 4 male and 4 female runners are required to finish in order to score in the team results. The finish times of the four fastest male and female runners will qualify for the men’s and women’s trophies. The race director has confirmed that guest runners are also welcome and encourages businesses to invite their clients, suppliers, friends and family to take part.
Each Corporate Challenge entrant pledges to raise a minimum of £100 for a charity based within the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.
Entries are on a first come first served basis and cost £30.50 per entrant.
Race day hospitality packages as well as sponsorship opportunities at the event are available for Corporate Challenge Teams.

The Windsor Half Marathon is a sell out race in a prestigious, iconic location which attracts 6,000 runners from near and far each year.
The 2016 race takes place on Sunday 25th September and is the 34th edition of the Windsor Half Marathon, which makes it one of the longest established running events in the UK.
Boasting one of the most picturesque courses in the world, the race is set in stunning surroundings and features amazing views of Windsor Castle and across Windsor Great Park, with the 13.1 miles run on traffic free roads around Windsor Great Park. The start and finish are on The Long Walk and a new start time of 10am has been confirmed.
The race village in Windsor Great Park offers a range of entertainment and catering options for the whole family, plus great facilities for the runners. There is also free onsite parking for runners and supporters near the race village.
